Water mains repairs

From a 2” main up to 12” and above, we can repair or replace water mains with a variety of methods, that range from a one off repair, right up to a full mains replacement scheme using the latest ‘No Dig’ techniques such as Directional Drilling or Slip Lining, both of these methods can allow us to install up to 100m of pipe in less than 30 minutes with only 2 holes excavated. If it’s not suitable for these methods, we can use the ‘open-cut’ method which involves digging a trench to lay the pipe in and then backfill it and reinstate it to the finished surface.

We can also install valves and hydrants on to existing mains networks as well as under pressure drilling for service connections.

We also offer a ‘swabbing’ service that allows us to clean and remove any sludgy deposits from inside the main, to provide a cleaner, healthier water supply and less discolouration.

Lead pipe replacement

If your house has an old lead pipe supplying it, you may suffer from poor flow or leaks that will impede your boiler or shower from working efficiently or you may want to simply remove the lead pipe for health benefits. This is where we come into our own! Using our ‘mole’, we can renew your water pipe from the boundary stop tap and into your property and connect onto your existing pipework with minimal fuss.

Rather than digging a trench up your driveway, we dig 2 or 3 small holes and the Mole does the rest! In certain cases, you won’t even tell where we’ve excavated. We take pride in reinstating our holes and leaving a tidy site.

If you are on a shared supply with your neighbours, we can advise of the best way forward to installing your new supply ready for the water company to connect it.

Leakage detection

We have specialist equipment that can pinpoint leaks on your pipes underground, saving you money if you are on a metered supply. You may have noticed a surge in your water usage but no leaks are visible, we can visit your property and locate the leak and if needed, can repair or replace the pipe.

Utility contractors

We have worked in most sectors of the Utility Industry and can install new cables or ducts for telecoms

projects as well as power cables and Gas mains.

From a whole new installation to a route diversion, we can handle most projects.

Civil works

We can offer a range of civils works that include drop kerb crossings to council approval, concrete road

repairs, tarmac and block paving repairs and we have trusted contractors who we use for patterned concrete or resin bonded surface repairs. We also lay new drains, both foul and surface water as well as land drains, we can divert existing drains around extensions and install new inspection chambers to allow access to the drains.

Grab wagon and excavations

We operate Grab Wagons which primarily work on our contracts, but we also work for other contractors and the general public, we can remove spoil and rubble quicker and easier than hiring skips. We can dig your footings out for new builds or extensions as well as garden clearances and remove the waste with the Grab Wagon. We can also supply aggregates and top soil, either virgin aggregates such as Type 1 limestone and gravel, or the increasingly popular recycled materials. We have a full Waste Transfer Licence from the

Environment Agency.
